Forget Kale Salad—Wellness Should Feel More Like Kale Chips!

…and Other Surprising Truths About Mind-Body-Soul Harmony

I’ve tried it: liking kale, that is.

I’ve massaged it, sautéed it in garlic—even attempted to hide it in smoothies. And yet, no matter what I do, kale and I have the same relationship I had with algebra in 9th grade: forced, awkward, and not particularly nourishing.

kale chipsEXCEPT—when it’s transformed into crunchy, crispy kale chips. Then it’s practically gourmet fairy food. I hoard them like dragon treasure and snack with glee.

Moral of the story? Your path to wellness doesn’t have to be painful, boring, or loaded with yuck! In fact, it shouldn’t be.

The real secret to mind-body-spirit harmony? Finding the feel-good version of “kale chips” in every area of your life. Something that makes you light up and say, “Mmm, yes please,” instead of “Ugh, do I have to?”

The Great Wellness Myth (And How I Bought It)

For years—YEARS—I believed that wellness had to look a certain way. Like celery juice, alfalfa sprouts, and turning my blender into a shrine for spirulina—not that there’s anything wrong with those things (except it turned out that alfalfa sprouts harbored mold). It’s just that there are a lot more factors involved than adding a few “super foods.”

I even had a brief raw food phase. (Which is a nice way of saying I ate a lot of zucchini noodles and missed warm things.)
I tried so hard to “do it right.”
I counted. I cleansed. I “should-ed” myself into knots.

And then, one day—somewhere between meal prep burnout and intellectual overwhelm—it hit me:

relaxingWhat if this whole thing is supposed to be… easy?

Not lazy easy. Not “ignore everything and live on chocolate croissants and diet Coke” easy.

But natural easy. Like putting on your comfiest clothes and realizing, “Oh hey, this feels like me.”

When Mind, Body, and Soul Sync Up (It’s Like a Tune Up Session for Your Spirit)

Think of your mind, body, and soul like a three-piece jazz band. When one instrument is out of tune, the whole performance feels off. You get glitchy. Anxious. Foggy. Like trying to run five apps on your phone with 2% battery.

But when they’re harmonized?

✨ You feel like you’ve got a rhythm.
✨ Things flow.
✨ The universe sends you green lights, unexpected compliments, and just the right idea at the right time.

It’s not magic (well actually, it is)—it’s resonance. Like well tuned instruments. Your energy aligns when you stop forcing what doesn’t work and start leaning into what feels true, effortless, and even fun… and don’t forget delicious!

3 Simple Tools That Don’t Require a Retreat Center or a Himalayan Passport

Here are three quick-and-delightful ways to plug back into your internal alignment—no yoga mat (or kale) required:

🧠 Mind Reset: “What Would Make Me Smile?”

This is your shortcut to sanity.

Place your hand over your heart. Breathe slowly, three times. Then ask:
“What would make me smile right now?”

✨ It could be a stretch.
✨ A dance break.
✨ A funny video of a penguin slipping on ice.
✨ It could be letting yourself NOT do the thing you were guilting yourself into.
✨ For me it’s often stepping into my garden for a bit—makes sense of everything!

The point is: your inner wisdom is surprisingly insightful when you pause and listen.
Ask. Trust. Act.

eating berries💚 Body Love: Add Color, Not Complication

Here’s an easy food hack: stop worrying about what you’re missing. Just ADD something vibrant.

✨ Berries on oatmeal.
✨ Spinach in your smoothie.
✨ Tomatoes on pizza (vegan-gluten-free for me).

You don’t need a degree in nutrition to know that whole foods + bright colors = phytonutrient party.

And something magical happens when you do this consistently:
Your body starts craving more of the good stuff.
Not because you forced it, but because you fed it well—and it remembered how good that feels.

Soul Spa: Stress Tapping for the Time-Crunched Mystic

You don’t need a sound bath or 40 minutes of uninterrupted silence to release stress.

Just gently tap your fingertips together—thumb to thumb, index to index, and so on—while focusing on what’s bugging you.

This little move, borrowed from EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), clears your energy meridians and gives your nervous system a chance to exhale. It’s like whispering to your stress, “I see you, but you don’t get to drive today.”

Bonus: no one knows you’re doing it. It’s stealth soul-care for busy days.
