Reflections on Life in a Very Strange World

I don’t know about you, but for a long time I felt like I was the strange one in a normal world. But more and more, I realize it’s the world that’s strange, at least the human part of it. Extremely strange.

Maybe you can relate…

I mean, look at what we’re doing to our planet — the very source of life! And how we treat each other. Not you, of course, but the ones dropping bombs, clearcutting forests, destroying ecosystems, and driving entire species to extinction… usually in pursuit of money or power. What the heck?

We all contribute to that destruction, since we are human, especially those of us in the so-called “developed” world. So I think a lot about how to minimize my contribution to that destruction — and maybe even add a little improvement somehow.

It’s a huge question.
It touches on every aspect of life: housing, heating, food, clothing, transportation, energy, education, medicine, religion, politics, consciousness, shopping, recycling, communication, media — everything!

Your world is your mirror

It can feel overwhelming to try to live a harmless life.
Where to even start?

The World Is My Mirror

I often wonder what the most important thing is… the one action I could take that would make the biggest difference.

And then I remember: I am the world — at least the part of it that I experience. I can only see my own reflection.

That means I have to change myself before the reflection in the mirror can change.
But what exactly do I need to change?

The answer is so simple I often forget it: my vibration.

Are You Rolling Your Eyes?

Before you dismiss vibration as “woo-woo,” give me the benefit of the doubt.

Vibration isn’t about floating off in a cloud of incense.
It’s the energetic tone you carry — the mood and presence you bring into a room.

what's your vibe?

It’s the difference between walking into a grocery store radiating calm, or storming in like a thunderhead looking for someone to blame.
One relaxes the space. The other creates static. Both shift the experience of everyone there.

Here’s the magical part: your inner state doesn’t stay neatly inside your head. It radiates. It nudges people, plants, even policies — not by waving a wand, but by changing what’s possible in the next conversation, the next choice, the next act of kindness.

In other words, the world you experience begins to reflect whatever vibration you put out. (Another person’s world will reflect their own vibration).

The Garden of Your Energy

Think of your vibration like soil quality.
If you plant a seed in poor, compacted dirt, you’ll get a scrawny sprout.
Plant the same seed in compost-rich soil and it thrives.

Your feelings, words, and actions are the nutrients you pour into the world’s garden.
Improve the soil in your patch, and your neighbors’ patch gets better too — by attracting worms, pollinators, and birds that don’t care about property lines.

Spreading the vibes

Raising your vibration happens one moment at a time.
You don’t have to become a saint or live on moonbeams.
Start with three gentle experiments:

1. Notice Your Inner Weather

For two days, be a curious scientist.
What mood shows up at breakfast? What thought loop repeats at noon?
Asking, “Why am I choosing to feel this way?” takes its power away and puts it in your hands where it belongs.

2. Choose One Tiny Kindness

Hold the door. Smile at someone. Send a quick note to a friend.
These micro-actions are compost for the soul — cheap, fast, and wildly contagious.

3. Feed Your Mind Wisely

News that screams doom and gloom at you is a vibrational-suicide pact.
Swap one doom-scroll for something that uplifts — a poem, a nature clip, a funny cat video. Not to escape reality, but to recalibrate so you can act from clarity instead of dread. I call it “laugh-scrolling.”

The Reflection Shifts

When you raise your vibration, your choices feel different.

  • You don’t skip driving because of statistics; you skip it because you enjoy breathing clean air.
  • You buy organic food not because you memorized pesticide ingredients, but because you feel good about protecting the environment and your own health.
  • Feeling love for animals, the planet, and your own body might inspire you to choose a vegan diet.
  • You buy the organic cotton T-shirt because you care about birds, frogs, and fish  — and because you know how synthetic clothing litters the sea with microplastics.
  • You choose recycled or bamboo toilet paper, because you feel like you are protecting forests.

This isn’t metaphysical wishful thinking. It’s what happens when education meets empathy — when knowledge aligns with what feels uplifting.

The Practical Magic

There’s a practical layer here.
When your vibration rises, you become more creative and less defensive — which makes collaboration easier.

Raise your vibes for more creativity

Innovation — cleaner energy, kinder economies, regenerative agriculture — happens in rooms where people feel safe enough to play with new ideas.

Laughter loosens the rigid protocols built by fear.
Beauty invites cooperation.
Joy opens imagination.

Those are literal high-vibrational tools for healing our world.

A Few Simple Practices

Raising your vibration doesn’t mean avoiding grief or anger.
We need to feel them when they come up — they’re part of the emotional ecosystem.
The goal isn’t to become a perpetual Pollyanna; it’s to widen your palette so you can choose what serves.

If you like simple daily steps, try this three-minute morning ritual:

  • Breathe for 30 seconds with gratitude — name three small things you notice (light on a leaf, the taste of coffee, a bird note).
  • For the next 90 seconds, imagine one small act of kindness or creativity in your day.
  • Then go do it.

That’s it. A tiny permission slip for raising your vibration.

clear your clutter

Steward Your Stuff

Here’s another one (I’m working on this too!): clean one corner of your life — a drawer, your inbox, your closet.

Donate, repair, or compost what you don’t need.
Each item you keep in right relationship is a little treaty with Earth — less waste, less extraction.
That’s vibration meeting policy: inner clarity creating outer harmony.

The Quiet Rebellion

In the end, raising your vibration is an act of rebellion — a gentle refusal to participate in the small cruelties that add up to catastrophe.

It’s also a way of aligning with the New Earth: a world shaped by beauty, magic, laughter, faeries (of course!), and rooted stewardship.

You can’t save the whole world in one dramatic swoop.
Just tend your little corner.
Tune it to a higher frequency.

The rest will follow —
like mushrooms popping up after the rain.
