How Can I Know My Soul Gifts?
As a coach, this is one of the questions I hear people ask more than almost any other, whatever words they use to ask it.
It tends to sound something like this:
“What am I supposed to do with my life?”
“What is my purpose?”
And sooner or later, almost everyone lands on some version of: “What are my gifts?”
It’s a curious question, because most of us are looking in the wrong direction when we ask it. We search outward, as if the answer were hiding in a horoscope, a career quiz, or someone’s latest program.
We imagine our gifts should light up a room, or solve one of humanity’s persistent problems. Perhaps we expect a celestial committee handing us a certificate: “Congratulations. You were born to become a healer, an artist, an explorer.”

Nature doesn’t work that way.
A sunflower seed doesn’t wonder whether it was meant to become a sunflower. A hummingbird doesn’t question whether it flies well enough. A crystal doesn’t question its own clarity.
None of them compare themselves to what grows, or flies, or sparkles nearby. Only humans seem to have perfected the art of overlooking what comes naturally.
The Gifts We Dismiss
After more than forty years of working with people, I’ve noticed something fascinating. Your greatest gifts are usually the ones that feel most ordinary to you.
Stopping to enjoy a sunset. Listening without judgment. Creating a little beauty wherever you go. Seeing patterns others miss. Making people laugh exactly when they need it. Finding elegant solutions to complicated problems. Helping others feel seen.
Because these qualities come so naturally, you assume everyone else can do them too. They can’t, as you already know if you’ve ever tried to teach someone your “easy” gift.

That’s precisely why they’re your unique gifts.
We rarely recognize our own strengths, because we’ve lived with them for so long. They’re as familiar as our own voice, or the color of our eyes. Other people often notice them long before we do.
Following Your Bliss Illuminates Your Gifts
Here’s the part most people miss. Your gifts don’t reveal themselves through analysis. They reveal themselves through bliss, or even a little excitement.
Notice what makes you lose track of time, what you’d do even if no one paid you for it. That feeling isn’t a distraction from your purpose. It’s the compass pointing straight at it.
Your soul didn’t come here with a resume. It came with a longing, a specific flavor of aliveness that only shows up when you’re doing what you love.
Follow that feeling and it leads you home to the gifts you already carry.

Nature Doesn’t Question
One of the reasons I love spending time with Nature is that questions like that don’t exist there.
Everything fulfills its purpose simply by becoming more completely itself.
Imagine if, instead of asking why am I not more like her, you asked what life is trying to express through you, and followed whatever lit you up in answer.
That’s a very different question. And I suspect it’s much closer to the answer you’re looking for.
The Harvest of Your Gifts
This is one of the reasons Lughnasadh has always been one of my favorite Celtic festivals. It’s the first harvest festival of the year.
Most people think of harvest as something external, fields of grain, baskets of fruit, abundance measured in bushels or bank accounts.

But the old stories hint at another kind of harvest. A harvest of wisdom, of courage, compassion, creativity—gifts your soul has been growing every time you chose bliss over shoulds.
By early August, the sunlight of the past months has transformed tiny seeds into nourishment, month by month.
Our lives work the same way. Every conversation, every challenge, every joy, every heartbreak, every unexpected turn, all of it has been ripening something within you.
Sometimes we don’t recognize the harvest until someone invites us to look.
The Gold Hidden Within
Gold has always fascinated me, not for its monetary value, but because it reminds me of pure sunlight.
Deep beneath the ground, gold waits within the rock until the right conditions reveal it. Crystals do something similar. They hold and transmit light in extraordinary ways, revealing colors we wouldn’t otherwise see.

Our inner gifts are like that. Waiting for the right light, the light of doing what genuinely uplifts you, to reveal them. Not because they were ever missing. Simply because we hadn’t followed the bliss that reveals them.
A Different Kind of Prosperity
When most people hear the word prosperity, they think about money.
Money certainly has its place. But I’ve come to believe there’s another kind of prosperity that comes first. The prosperity of knowing who you are, of trusting your own gifts, of bringing those gifts into the world in ways that nourish both you and the people around you.
From that place, life feels less like striving and more like an adventure, less like proving your worth and more like expressing it.
Your Harvest of Crystal Clarity
This Lughnasadh, August 1st, I’ll be leading Crystal Clarity & the Golden Harvest of Your Soul Gifts, guided journeys into the hidden underground realms, where crystal beings, gnomes, and the radiant presence of Lugh invite us to discover the treasures we’ve been carrying all along.
Every journey unfolds differently. Some receive guidance. Some encounter unexpected allies. Some simply leave with a deep sense of peace and a renewed trust in themselves.
But beneath every experience lies the same invitation. To remember. To recognize the gifts that have been ripening within you. To gather your own golden harvest.
Because the greatest treasure isn’t gold after all. It’s revealed in the light that has been waiting, all along, for you to follow it… the joy, the passion, the excitement, the bliss.
And maybe—just maybe, those crystal caves underground have a lot to do with the inner caverns within your own heart.
If you’d like to gather your own golden harvest this Lughnasadh, I’d love for you to join us for Crystal Clarity on Zoom. Come curious. Come tired. Come however you are. Your gifts have been with you the whole time, and your bliss already knows the way.
